The 4 Pilot Education Modules C1-C4

A summary

The four modules below are "Pilot modules" developed during Q1-2 2018 by Linköping University (C1), Skövde University (C2), Chalmers (C3) and KTH (C4).   Each cosnsist of 3 sub-modules of 1HEC each.  The modules are also made in co-operation with "Partner" Universities and "Partner" Industries to promote a mix of recognised experts and organisations contributing to the top of the range education aimed for.  (Partner Industries and Universities may change during the final implementations of the corse modules towards September 2018).

C1 Smart Products and Industrial Internet of Things

Module Summary

The module on Smart Products and Industrial Internet of things aims at providing an overview on the latest developments and challenges in the design of an industrial internet of things. The module content focus on the Smart Factory as a collection of interacting intelligent components (machines, transport equipment, products, assemblies, sub-assemblies, sub-systems, etc.) and the implication of their interaction with humans. These components need to understand themselves by having a perception of their own capabilities and action scope. They also need to understand each other so that collectively their interaction result in a sustainable production environment. The design of large technical system is necessarily incomplete if the human dimension is left out. There are ethics and human aspect involved that must influence its design.

The Sub-modules

The three sub-modules cover a broad area from the Introduction to Industry4.0 to Ethical and human aspects over to Architectures for Smart products and the Internet of things.

C1 Learning Activities (under development)

The learning activities are the actual education activities planned for the individual sub modules.  Learning activities consist of Lectures, Laboratorial activities, Work-shops, Seminars Home-work assignments and Examination activities.

C2 Cyber Physical Systems and Digital Twins

Module Summary

This module covers very board topics, including general cyber-physical systems and digital twins conecpts, technologies and their manufacturing applications. The digital twins topics will be divided into process and system level so that many relevant simulation technologies that can be applied will be discussed
